The Relaunch: A Bit Everywhere

Welcome to “A Bit Everywhere”.

In lieu of the new quarter, I decided to go ahead and do something that I’ve been thinking about doing for a very long time. I’ve gotten myself a new domain and redesigned my blog.

I’ve had a blog since 2013 or 2014 and in the span of these almost 7 years of blogging, I’ve gone through quite a few domain name changes. With each big change in my life, I found myself searching for a new name to match where I am and what I feel like.

At the start of 2022, I realized that I am now, in fact, at a different stage in my life than I was when I coined my previous domain name. I’ve been out of school for a while, I’ve been working, I’m in my mid-twenties, and I’m doing adult things that scare and excite me. Also to note, my reading tastes have changed tremendously as well.

My general interests in life have changed too. I’m asking myself more questions that I wouldn’t have when I was younger and I find myself watching more TV series, movies, or documentaries on matters beyond what I used to prefer. One day I prefer to sit and watch a documentary on a true crime case, the next day on the space or restaurant industry, and the next day a reality tv show that’s full of head turning drama that’s inspired one too many Buzzfeed posts. I want to deep dive into things I’m learning from every day life and what I want to learn for the future. I want to start traveling and visiting places I couldn’t before.

All that said, my tastes have expanded to include a bit of everything and I find myself more eager to have my content match my new interests.

With this site relaunch, I’m hoping to do just that and create a new online home for all my thoughts that are a bit everywhere.

Things to expect:

Please feel free to check out the new menu options where I’ve categorized all of these posts.

“A Bit Everywhere” is also an ode to how I feel about myself in a general basis. I’d label myself as an introverted extrovert who is a passionate creative and loves to love things. I get really excited over things such as literature, things I’ve heard on the news, shows I’ve watched, or music I’ve heard.

I mean, I’ve been talking into the void online for 7 years about books, so I think it’s safe to say that I love talking about things that I love.

I’m reminded on a daily basis, whether it be directly or indirectly, that my passion for things and my wide range of interests is something that isn’t normal. As a woman, especially in my culture and as a person of color, I’m expected to be far more demure and quiet.

But I find that I can’t just simply love something or feel things quietly. I just think very loudly and I like to express myself through words.

While the majority of people’s brains follow a straight path to the next big milestone in their life, I’m on the path of many detours and adventures. Maybe it’s the inner Sagittarius in me, but the idea of exploring things, whether that be different kinds of art such as literature, music, or movies or to learn about things and people, dead or alive, is exciting. I like having a normal life during the day and coming home to open up the door to all my interests and just be loud.

I find it exhilarating that I’m a bit everywhere.

So welcome to “A Bit Everywhere”, a blog dedicated to books with a side of life!
