Weekly Wrap Up #5

Wow. This week was a tough one. I even painted my nails yellow last Sunday hoping to simulate some joy and happiness but nope…

I hope your week was better!

What I Read

Beach Read by Emily Henry

goodreads summary

My gosh I loved this book. This past week has been exceptionally heard and my weekend didn’t exactly start off the best either. I wanted to read something that I can lose myself in and so I finally bit the bullet and picked up this book Friday night I read about a hundred pages of it and blew through the rest of it the following day. There’s so much I took notes of in this book. I need to go back and annotate and tab this book. I honestly thought that “Book Lovers” was going to be my favorite Emily Henry summer romance novel book but I was so very wrong. I connected to this book a lot more than I did with “Book Lovers”. I have a whole stack of books waiting for me to read but all I want to do is pick up “Beach Read” and start rereading it.

Walk the Vanished Earth by Erin Swan

goodreads summary

I’m still making my way through this book. It’s got a heavier tone to it and after finishing “Beach Read”, I wanted to stick with lighter reads. I did manage to read a bit of it today and I got introduced to another character and another timeline. A little background about this book, “Walk The Vanished Earth” follows a large set of characters from different timelines who are all interconnected. It’s easy to spot how some characters are related to each other and where they come into play with the over all plot line but some characters are a bit more mysterious.

This Is Not a Book about Benedict Cumberbatch: The Joy of Loving Something–Anything–Like Your Life Depends on It

goodreads summary

I saw this book in a bookstore and I laughed out loud at the title. I love Benedict Cumberbatch and as someone who gets very passionate about things (books/reading for example), I felt like I could find many things to love in this book. I’m only 20 pages in and it’s pretty fun so far. It’s very quirky and unexpected.

What I Watched

Stranger Things Season 4

I finally finished this season and honestly, I desperately need to go back and rewatch it. I’d say that Season 3 is still my favorite of this series. I don’t like where the show is taking some of the character’s storylines. It was still amazing and the writing was very well done. There are a good couple of plot holes, I don’t know if anyone’s caught onto them but I’ll make a post about my season 4 volume 1 thoughts soon.

Mission Impossible 1

After finishing Stranger Things, I didn’t want to start a new tv show so I decided to plop on a movie. The new Mission Impossible movie’s coming out soon so I thought that I’d go back and watch all the movies. I can’t believe how young everyone looks and honestly, I remember nothing a bout the earlier Mission Impossible movies so I had fun watching this one.

Mission Impossible 2

I’m making my way through this one and am planning to finish this tonight so I wanted to include it in this week’s wrap up. This movie’s a lot different than the first one. The first one definitely felt like an origin story. This one has more action and more spy stuff but there’s also a romance that’s pretty cringe and insta-lovey.

To Be Read Additions

I feel like I need to clarify – these are not books that I bought, they’re ones I’ve recently heard or saw that I want to eventually read one day.
