Synopsis: I’ve lost it. 🙁 The only thing in the world I wasn’t supposed to lose. My engagement ring. It’s been in Magnus’s family for three generations. And now the very same day his parents are coming, I’ve lost it. The very same day! Do not hyperventilate, Poppy. Stay positive 🙂 !!

Poppy Wyatt has never felt luckier. She is about to marry her ideal man, Magnus Tavish, but in one afternoon her “happily ever after” begins to fall apart. Not only has she lost her engagement ring in a hotel fire drill but in the panic that follows, her phone is stolen. As she paces shakily around the lobby, she spots an abandoned phone in a trash can. Finders keepers! Now she can leave a number for the hotel to contact her when they find her ring. Perfect!
Well, perfect except that the phone’s owner, businessman Sam Roxton, doesn’t agree. He wants his phone back and doesn’t appreciate Poppy reading his messages and wading into his personal life.
What ensues is a hilarious and unpredictable turn of events as Poppy and Sam increasingly upend each other’s lives through emails and text messages. As Poppy juggles wedding preparations, mysterious phone calls, and hiding her left hand from Magnus and his parents . . . she soon realizes that she is in for the biggest surprise of her life.
I loved this book so much!!! Here’s a little introduction to this post. It’s an easy read and it’s a must read. It’s on my favorite list now and I managed to read this book in less than 48 hours.
Here’s what I love about this book:
Poppy Wyatt encompasses me entirely. Poppy constantly demotes herself, thinking that she is insignificant, and is always changing herself to make others happy and content. Her personality so relatable which makes me love her even more. I love her quirkiness and her love and necessity for a cellphone. Her bubbly nature makes the book what it is by serving as a mask to hide her insecurity and contrasting the other characters, particularly Sam Roxton’s in the most beautiful way. Most importantly her names Poppy. Poppy! It’s so cute! It’s one of my favorite names 🙂
Sam Roxton, ah, what can I say Sam? Sam is open in everything he does. He’s not afraid to let people know what he thinks. He’s not afraid of what others think of him. Yet his character poses a mystery, though not significant, that Poppy encounters with as she becomes his P.A. It’s his openness that cracks me up. Sam’s humor, occasionally sly, adds the liveliness to this easy read.
I never realized how connected I am with my phone until reading this book. Poppy’s relationship with her cellphone shows how you can learn entirely everything about a stranger by looking through their phone. I also love the phone as that’s what has brought Poppy to discover herself.
The only downside of my reading experience is when I lost my space in my book and ended up flipping to a page that had a MAJOR spoiler. Life lesson: ALWAYS KEEP A BOOKMARK. (DON’T YOU DARE DOG EAR A BOOK, I’M WATCHING YOU AND AM READY TO LABEL YOU BOOK ABUSER j.k I love you all but please don’t 🙂 )
This book is a must read if you’re looking for a quick read that’s funny and equally adorable. Though the romance isn’t overwhelmingly present, you can still enjoy the bonds characters share. The adorableness comes from Poppy and her goofy, bubbly, relatable personality. I laughed so much reading this book at the multiple ways Poppy ends up embarrassing herself or, sometimes, others. Each character is uniquely different in their actions and personality, making the book more interesting and meaningful as bonds form, contrast, break, and test each other.
Perfect read for February if you’re trying to read romance novels!
I give this book a 5 out of 5!!!!
