After I spent a good time digging around in my heart and brain for a comfort movie I can rewatch, I landed on “The Avengers”. I’m a sucker for any movie or book with a found family trope and combine that with uniquely different super people with different beliefs and ethos, I’ve found my fictional home.
When it comes to movies, I love action and fast moving plots with great characters I can fall in love with and root for and of course, cry for.
“The Avengers”, honestly most of the Marvel movies in general, played such a big role in my teenage years. I remember going to the movies every summer with my hometown friends and oohing and aahing over CGI super heroes and villains clashing over each other. I have memories from when I was in middle school watching one of the earliest “Iron Man” movies to watching “Black Panther” towards the end of my college journey.
Now that we’re well into the second year of living in a global pandemic, I wanted to turn that nostalgia into a reality and revisit those memories and watch the Marvel movies from start to finish in chronological order.
Unfortunately, I’m super impatient and wanted that surge of endorphins and happy feelings so I ended up binging the Avengers movies in order, but just the Avengers movies. Now that I’ve scratched that itch lol, I’m making it my mission to go through the entire Marvel universe in order and really just soak in each movie and see how I feel about them now.
Here’s the order of the movies I’m going to follow. I don’t know if there’s another order but I found this online and we’re sticking to it.
I’m the most interested in watching the first Captain America movie because…Chris Evans and I also really want to watch the first Iron Man because…RDJ. I really love these two characters because while they want to do best for the world, they’re almost polar opposites in their personalities and beliefs. In my head, these two are the more morally good and patriotic versions of what could have been Magneto and Professor X from the XMEN movies.
I’m also looking forward to watch the movies that I haven’t managed to watch when they first came out. I haven’t seen: “Ant-Man and The Wasp”, “Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 2”, and “Captain Marvel”. I’m sure I’m missing one or two other movies but I guess we’ll find out when I make my way down the list!

And AFTER binging all those, I’ll move onto watching the new spin off tv show’s that have been coming out such as “Loki” or “The Falcon and Winter Soldier” shows.
