I love reading multiple books at a time. It’s a chaotic lifestyle that suits my chaotic mood reading tendencies. Unfortunately, this kind of way of reading results in a lot of books that fall onto the backburner and get forgotten. Here’s a couple of books from 2021 that I didn’t manage to finish.
This is the second time I’ve started this book and left it unread. Classics are a hit or miss for me. I like to read for escapism and reading classics, especially those that take place in another time period require me to be careful and spend extra time reading the words to make sure I understand what I’m reading. This is one of those books. I’m hoping to start and finish this book this year because I really want to watch the Greta Gerwig adaptiation. The movie looks wholesome and I think that this book is going to be one of the easier classics to read and get into if given the proper time and attention.
I started this book and kept it by my nightstand for months on end. I called this my emergency read because everything from the writing to the plot felt so comforting and nostalgic. I saved this book for anytime I was feeling low, stressed, or anxious. Ironically, there were many times I should have picked up this book but opted for a romance instead. I want to read this book soon and I think I’m going to plop it onto my February TBR because I need something light and comforting after the books I’ve been reading this month.
This book is a boatload of fun. I definitely fell head first into the historical romance genre last year but paranormal historical fiction romances are a genre I didn’t touch until this book. I actually made a pretty good chunk into this book. This book consists of two stories and I’m almost at the halfway mark in the first story. I’m not sure how to feel about my reading experience with this book. It’s pretty interesting but the main female character is pretty naive so I’m interested to see where her character arc goes. The part where I left off in this book is a pivotal moment where some action was starting to brew so I’m excited to get back to it.
Do you have any books leftover from 2021? I have friends who would be stressed out to have books left over when entering a new year or even a new month. Are you bothered by it? Clearly, I am not lol.
Ooh I love Little Women! And Pinch of Magic is also really good!
