Fall Romances

We are well into the depths of Fall and what a lovely time it is. The time just changed which means longer nights and more time to cuddle up under a cozy blanket with a nice book. I know a lot of people gravitate less towards romances and more towards fantasy so I thought that I’d share some romance books that I’m looking forward to picking up for the first time or giving a reread. This small compilation is a mixture of contemporary as well as paranormal/fantasy romances.

Well Met

Ironically enough, this book takes place in the summer.

But the small town vibes and the overarching setting of the Renaissance faire just screams autumn for me? I think it’s because it makes me think of Gilmore Girls. Small town settings and friendly neighbors always makes me think of the iconic fall show lol. The banter in this book is just amazing. I actually just reread this book last month and I’m so glad I did because it made me so happy. Simon and Emily have the best banter ever, especially considering the fact that Emily thinks he’s a stuck up English teacher who needs to tone it down. But their faire counterparts, well they have a much different kind of rapport with each other and Pirate Simon is much different than English teacher Simon 😉

Pride and Prejudice

This is the epitome of a classic fall book. I read this for the first time a couple of months ago and while I didn’t really get sucked into it until the second half of the book rolled around, the movie changed everything. I honestly want to reread the book every fall because it’s just so cinematic. The movie made me appreciate Austen’s writing even more and realize that I missed a lot from my first read of this book. This book encompasses the little touch of drama and flair that fall brings around.

An Enchantment of Ravens

I remember reading this book and it being season based and how the Autumn Court actually played a big part in the story. This book has pretty mixed reviews, people either hate it or love it. I personally remember liking it a lot, so I’m excited to give it a reread. I don’t remember much about it and it’s on my fall romance tbr mainly because I want to know if my opinion’s changed and because I love myself some fairie romance.

A Discovery of Witches

This book is probably the closest I’m going to get to Dark Academia lol and I’m so excited for it. I’m trash for vampires and I want to find a paranormal series that’ll make me as excited as my paranormal middle school/high school reads did. This book is gigantic. The pages are super thin (which I love so immensely much) and who ever printed this book forgot about something called margins. All in all, it’s pretty intimidating but I’m excited. I’m ten pages into it and in all ten of these pages, our main character has tucked herself into a corner of an Oxford Library with a book that speaks to her. I am intrigued. Forewarning, the main area of disappointment that people often mention in regards to this book is how the character undergoes a personality change when it comes to a future romantic relationship? People didn’t like how she suddenly became a lot more dependent on someone. I obviously haven’t reached that bit so I don’t know if I’ll also dislike it for that reason. I don’t think I’ll be too bothered by it to be honest, but I thought that I’d mention it in case something like that isn’t your cup of tea.
