What to Expect in 2021

Today, I thought I’d share what you all can expect from me this year, content wise. Consider this a little sneak peak, preview, or a prologue to this new year.

I really want to invest more time into this blog. I’m so aware of how many times I say this but I really mean it lol. I’ve been putting so much time into planning and organizing content here that it’s making me so happy. I know I’ve been producing content on the sidelines, whether it’s planning or drafting, but I need to work on posting said content consistently.

I also want to put out a bunch of different ongoing series on this blog. I’ve been planning three on the side for a while and I’m waiting to put it out until I have some posts in that series built up. But here’s a sneak peak of some series to look forward to in 2021: “Day/Week In my Life”, “Getting My Life Together”, and “The Nostalgia Diaries”.

I want to post at least twice a week on this blog but the goal is three times. Working 10+ hours a day may not always make that possible lol. That’s another thing. I want to really make my content creation process as efficient as possible. The past two  months, I’ve been mostly batch producing posts. I still have been leaving some finishing touches off for later and the whole “later” aspect is the reason why certain posts never get published. I need to get better at finishing things because I don’t have time to do things later. So basically, 2021 will hopefully be the year for creative efficiency.

I want to also expand the type of content I put out here. I put out the occasional lifestyle post in the form of a discussion post or a life update but I kind of want to explore more into the lifestyle genre? I’ve mentioned the day/week in my life type of posts that I used to do in my stories a year or so ago but I want to go beyond just that content and discussion type of posts. I have some inklings of what I want to do but I’m excited to sit down in January and do a bunch of research and get inspiration from other bloggers.

As for reading, I know I’m not reading as much anymore and I really want to fix that this year. I’m not sad because my books read number is so low but because I feel like I’ve lost that time in uni when I was able to read so much? I am wallowing in pre-adulthood nostalgia lol. I can safely say that my comfort genre is romance, particularly adult romance. But after November, I realized how much I love non-fiction, memoirs, and self-help books. I want to expand my reading palette in 2021 to include more genres outside my comfort zone. I want to be able to pick up random, outdated books, and sift through them and find a treasure. With the little time I do have to read, I want to make my reading a bit more intentional in the sense of stepping out of my comfort zone and trying new things. Reading is a fun hobby for me but I realized recently that I’m not only excited to read for the enjoyment, but to learn from it. So when I say I want to fix how much I’m reading, I mean the quality of my reading.

I also want to start keeping my own database of books read, like an excel sheet. I think it’ll be easier to keep track of what I read in a year than in good reads. That’s why I kind of dropped off the face of good reads this year. I haven’t updated that app in such a long time lol so apologies for whenever I decide to do that. I do want to be more active on there since I get introduced to a lot more books there.

All that being said, welcome to a new year in The Fiction Giant’s journey šŸ™‚  I’m excited to start off this year by brain storming all the different content I want to explore. I know some series/posts will require a lot more active research and format planning but I’m ready for the change and challenge.

If you have any requests for what you want more from me, feel free to leave it down below in the comments!
