Winter TBR

This winter, I’m trying to get back into reading. I didn’t do much reading in November and my brain’s forgotten what it feels like to finish a book. That’s why my winter TBR is full of books that I’m hoping are quick, bingeable reads. When my reading is slowing down or I’m trying to get out of a slump, I usually go for a book that’s guaranteed to be a fast read. I like to trick my brain into thinking, “wow, this was an easy read, we should read more!”.

Here are three books that are on my “get to them or get out” winter TBR. Two of these books have been on my shelf for so long that they’re weighing down my bookshelf with the amount of dust they’re collecting.

The Night Circus – Erin Morgenstern

This book has been on so many of my autumn/winter TBR’s but this year, I’m determined to get to it. I associate winter with atmospheric, immersive books and the talk of the town is that this book is all that and more. I don’t know much about this book other than that there’s a circus, magic, and a competition of some sorts.

The Hating Game – Sally Thorne

This isn’t a romance that I would consider a winter romance but the movie’s coming out soon so I really want to check this out. I tried reading this book a few years ago but didn’t really like it so I’m hoping that it was just a mood thing. I feel like this will be a qucik easy read when I’m looking for a filler book.

Muse of Nightmares – Laini Taylor

I read “Strange the Dreamer” a couple of winters ago and it was the perfect winter read. This book read like a love letter to a reader. It was such a soft, cozy read and the words fell off the page like honey. I’m excited to dive back into this world. I’m always a bit weary of fantasy but I think that this book won’t take me too long to read as I already read and loved the first book.

Between Shades of Gray – Ruta Sepetys

It’s not a winter TBR without a historical fiction. This is a book that’s been on my shelf for years. I haven’t read YA in so long so I’m a bit nervous going into this book but I’m excited for a quick read that will make me cry. I’ve heard great think about the author’s writing. I don’t know anything about this book at all. I definitely knew what the book was about when I thrifted it but it’s been years.

What are some books that you’re planning to get to this Winter? What kind of books do you like to read in Winter?
