Weekly Wrap Up# 5

Hello, hello! Happy Monday! I know, I know, the words “happy” and “Monday” being together are a bit weird and fake but 2023 is the year of manifesting goodness and I’m trying to be a pocketful of sunshine.

The past week was a rollercoaster. The work week was pretty hectic and I wanted to establish somewhat of a nightly routine where I feel productive post-work. That’s definitely not happened. Instead, a majority of my evenings after work were centered around watching the movies from “The Mummy” trilogy. I thought it was a good idea last Monday but as I got further into the series and the worse the movies got, I just couldn’t stop watching them. I went to visit my family this weekend and I continued the trend of watching bad action movies but this time, I watched a good bad action movie. There’s a big difference lol. I ended the week by driving back to my apartment, putting on the third and final “The Mummy” movie and booking a flight to visit a friend.

Takeaway from this past week is that sometimes, we want to accomplish certain things and introduce routines into our lives but life gets in the way and reminds us that we can only do so much in the day. It takes time finding that balance and it’s not worth beating ourselves up for not being perfect. Also, to drink water. Hydration is important.

Things That I’m Grateful For:

What I’ve Watched

The Mummy and The Mummy Returns

I don’t know why I started these movies but I did and as I’ve said, I can’t stop lol. I watched them when I was a lot younger and don’t remember anything from them. I think my favorite parts of the movies are how many warning signs there are to prevent people from being stupid but as humanity has proven over and over again, we will do our best to make all the wrong decisions even when we’re physically picked up and placed on the road to our destination. Second favorite part of this series so far is CGI Rock. I swear to God I’ve thought I’ve seen it all but after seeing the Rock in CGI format, I was quickly proven wrong.

Pathaan

I absolutely loved this movie. It took all the tropes an action movie can have and smashed it together with a bad ass score/soundtrack. Personally, I agree with the high rating this movie has even though people are upset about the hype it’s getting. I think people are watching this movie with the wrong mentality. Expect nothing and be happy to receive nothing but pure entertainment lol. There’s not much of an amazing plot but it’s got flashy scenes and laugh out loud moments and sometimes, that’s all you need. I haven’t watched “Bullet Train” yet but my mom said that this movie gave off the same vibes as “Bullet Train” did. Pathaan was a very self-aware movie and I love how it plays on itself. I personally am a fan of this kind of movie genre that’s becoming popular.
