Monthly Wrap Up: September

This wrap up is so delayed so I’m going to keep it short and sweet. In September, I read a ton of romance books that I really enjoyed. I won’t go into too much detail because I’m planning to publish some more in depth reviews on them.

The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood

The book that topped it all this month was “The Love Hypothesis”. This book has pretty much reached all ends of the online book community so I wouldn’t be surprised if you’ve already heard about it. There are certain romance books that fall under my umbrella of comfort reads. This list includes “Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating” and “Well Met”. These are books that I revisit often for a serotonin boost and I knew from chapter one that “The Love Hypothesis” is going to join that list. I loved so many things about this book. I loved the romance, the characters, the social topics it discussed, and how STEM proud it was. There are books that try to explore STEM life, especially STEM life for women, and I think that this book is the one that felt the most genuine and relatable. Also… Adam. That’s all needs to be said about this book, haha.

It Happened One Summer by Tessa Bailey

I really enjoyed this book as well. I loved how this book meshed together the glamorous flashy life of a celebrity with small town vibes. This was such an easy, steamy romance and I loved how these two very opposite people came together. There’s just something alway so cozy about diving into a romance set in a small town. The two characters in this romance are honestly so dynamic and unforgettable. For those of who you don’t know, this couple was inspired by the Schitt’s Creek characters Mutt and Alexis. Personally, I think Brendan was far more of a flushed character than Mutt. If you were put off by some of the less redeemable qualities of Mutt, I think you’ll find Brendan to be a lot better. There were so many great conversations about family, loss, grief, and managing expectations that come along with the type of upbringing one has.
